I am a storyteller. Or am I? Yes, yes I am!
I used to publish stories regularly, but recently I was a little shocked to realize it had been over a year since I last pushed “publish” on a story. To be very honest, the past year has been very difficult for several reasons. The stories I had to tell were stories you probably wouldn’t want to read. I thought my days of writing down the stories of my everyday, often chaotic life and trying to encourage others with what I have learned or observed were over.
But for the past several months, the Lord has been gently whispering to me through sermons, worship songs, and my heart. A few weeks ago, we sang a song with words that pricked my heart and made tears swell in my eyes.
“If my life tells a story, let it be of you only. Everything for the honor of Your name.”
That has always been my heart’s cry – to let my life bring honor to the Lord. As I sat with those lyrics for a bit, I realized that if I don’t share what the Lord has put on my heart, I’m missing out on an opportunity to honor God.
So, I am encouraged to write it down and push “publish.” Maybe it won’t be like it was before. This year has challenged and changed me in many ways, but at my core – I am still me.
Please join me again as we Chuckle in the Chaos. Or maybe we cry about the mundane. It really could go either way.
