I was born in Texas but when I was ten years old, my parents moved our family of 6 (8 if you count the dogs) to the far away land of Boise, Idaho. Though I loved the experiences I was able to have due to living in the mountains, I hated the cold ~ so when I graduated from high school, I migrated back to Texas. While attending Texas A&M University, I met an amazing man that was the perfect match for me. (I think my dad put it this way, “Finally, she’s found someone that can match her word for word.” I was a talkative extrovert in a family of introverts.) We married the week after I graduated college.
We were two kids that liked the same things and loved each other. Thank goodness we didn’t know the road we would walk down. We just started walking – together. Now, we have three grown daughters, a son in heaven, two sons-in-law and two granddaughters. We can only credit the Lord for getting us where we are today. I grew up in a home where Christ was the center. My husband did not. But we committed to seek the Lord for our lives and try to live according to His Word.
Statement of Faith
~ I believe that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit-and that these three are coequal and co-eternal.
~ I believe all people have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Because of this, we must turn to Christ for salvation. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
~ I believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God for the Christian faith and living.
~ I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory.
~ I believe in the present ministry and power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling every Christian is able to live a godly life. I believe the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the world of sin and the judgment to come.
~ I believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and the commitment we share to spread His Word and to minister to the needs of one another.
