Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. I grew up singing those words along with Julie Andrews but now I have my own list of favorite things.
To those who read my words and follow my blog, I’m going to do something different and new. The next few weeks, are going to be hectic for me and I am going to be working on some new writing projects so I’m going to step away from blogging for a few weeks. During my time away, I’m going to share a few of my favorite things with you – a writer, a podcaster, a ministry leader, a fitness coach and a few ministries I participate in and love.
I will be sharing my favorite people behind my favorite things because I think you’ll love them as much as I do.
So, grab a mug of java or your favorite tea, get comfy and join me as I share with you the women I laugh with – and at times, cry with, sweat with and serve with.
Because the conference is next week, I’m going to start out with a ministry I have been a part of for over six years. It started with a vision by one person who gathered a group of women to pray about how to walk it out. I have been honored to sit in the circle of those women and to pray the You Are Conference into being. The women behind You Are are genuine Jesus lovers.
The Vision of You Are
“You Are” is a 2 day intergenerational, interdenominational women’s conference with the main purpose of encountering God in freedom and truth.
In 2013 our Founder and Director, Stephanie Lee, felt God leading her to gather women to worship and seek Him together. She began by bringing a small group of women together to pray for our community and direction for how this gathering could look. As this team of women began to pray and seek God together, You Are Conference took shape. The first You Are Conference was in October of 2014 and abundantly exceeded the team’s expectations. There were testimonies of women deciding to follow Jesus in full surrender, repentance, and new freedom. We witnessed God healing families, spiritual wounding, and physical sickness. After the first gathering our team felt God clearly leading us to move forward. 2019 will mark the fifth conference and we couldn’t be more excited and hopeful.
Our prayer is that we will grow deeper in our faith through teaching and worship, connect with other women, and leave encouraged in who God really is and who He says we are. We will come together, women of all ages (18 years old through 118), from all denominations to worship God, & by God’s grace, leave the conference knowing and believing we can be free in Jesus Christ.
